We really like the simplicity of the ACT Matrix as it 1) helps everyone to think about what really matters to them 2) reflect on what fear or inhibitions get in the way of these 3) look at our learnt behaviours and responses and 4) focus on what new behaviours and responses could move us towards what we most value.
It helps us to reflect on the fact that every word we use has a relational context according to our unique developmental experiences, so that our physical, emotional and mental worlds (hands, hearts and heads) are intimately connected.
By becoming increasingly aware of our sensory and mental experiencing (by staying fully in the present) and whether our typical responses are moving us towards or away from what we really want, we can start to let go of patterns and behaviours that have been inhibiting our growth and to instead choose ones that better serve our own wellbeing (and therefore the wellbeing of our families and communities).
