​WHY we are all designed to FLOURISH

We all begin our lives with basic human needs that then shape what we want and value – our motivations and behaviours stem from having our needs met (or not) and our values are a reflection of these needs. During childhood these needs include: Security, Relationship, Independence, Engagement, Fulfilment, Contribution and Growth.

​No matter what age we are these needs still need to be met, especially as we know that adult wellbeing is absolutely essential for child wellbeing. If we have had traumatic and difficult childhoods our values and behaviours will be different, but the good news is that, no matter what our early backgrounds were, everybody is capable of transformation. What that means is that once we understand why we do what we do we can make the changes necessary to look after our own wellbeing and that of others. It's also really helpful for us to understand other people's values - especially when it comes to members of our own family and the people that we work with / spend most spend of our time with.

So the first thing we can do is to have a think about what we truly value and how we are manifesting this in our lives. The Project invites everyone to explore the two really important questions: 'What is a 'Good Life'?' and 'How can I become the 'Best version of my Self'?'
