The Mechanics
The Flourish Project consists of a set of products, services and resources that help people and communities to thrive.
It offers a link between policymakers; commissioners of services; providers and consumers of services; adults,
children and communities; faith groups and families. It is also an ecosystem that can be self- sustaining in helping
to build community cohesion, whatever that community may be. You may view a ‘community’ as a Ward; District;
Borough; Neighbourhood; City, Congregation; Family; or even a nation.

The core components of a Flourish Project
Any one person can fulfil any number of the roles, but all responsibilities
need to be covered for a Flourish Project to succeed...

The Catalyst is the start point for any Flourish Project. He or she understands the scale of the opportunity and the potential of the solution. They are the ‘spark’ that lights the fire. They become the internal champion for getting traction within the authority, community, faith group, school or society. The Catalyst may also be the Commissioner (but not necessarily).
The Commissioner is the person with the MEANs to make the project happen; they have the money; the energy; the authority and the need to make the Flourish Project as successful as it can be. Typically, they will be the ones responsible for determining the ’addressable community’, or the focus and scope for the project. The Coach is the driving force behind the project; they lead, manage and support both the supply side co-ordinators and the demand side connectors. They build capability and capacity within their community and make sure both are aligned to best effect. The Co-ordinators oversee the Flourish Platform [Local Service Directory] and are responsible for making sure that the information is not only up-to-date, but is also configured to the needs of the customers; that it ensures services are aligned to the levels of the Flourish Model and that the content is compelling, engaging and relevant. The Connectors are the specialists and master practitioners in having great conversations. They listen, they take responsibility, they care, and they are supported to connect people to the best assets, resources or outcomes The Customer is anyone to whom the Flourish Project provides a service. Through our training, coaching and support for everyone within the Flourish Project, customers will be helped to identify strengths and opportunities within their community and build their capacity to flourish. The Champions are then anyone who becomes an advocate of the Flourish Model whether this is in the role of an active participant, an enthusiastic observer or a passionate promoter. |
