We have each been designed to constantly learn and grow and to find ways of expressing our own unique identity and potential within a world of others (who are also doing the same). And, just like all other living things, when we are born we are full of a tremendous life energy that wants to develop and grow.
What's tricky is that when we are young we are constantly being told by others what we should do and how we should be (so that we can fit in) so we adopt things that don't really resonate with who we really are. If we do this for too long it makes us feel increasingly unhappy and depressed and as though life has lost it's sense of true purpose and meaning. That's why it's important that the cultures and systems that we live within are aligned with our own values and allow us to be as real and authentic as possible.
